A $19,000 KEESEP RNA turned $80,000 OBSAPR juvenile, the Steve Asmussen trainee is owned by Bloom Racing Stable, Madaket Stables and Allen Racing. Vino Rosso (c, 4, Curlin-Mythical Bride, by Street Cry {Ire}) came out on top in the older male category, clinching the championship with a decisive score in the GI Breeders’ Cup Classic. The $410,000 KEESEP buy also captured the GI Gold Cup at Santa Anita S. and crossed the line first in the GI Jockey Club Gold Cup S., but was demoted to second for interference. Owned by Repole Stable & St. Elias Stable and trained by Todd Pletcher, the chestnut retired to stud at Spendthrift Farm following his victory at the World Championships.
