This month’s Stable Shout winners are Kirk and Michelle Larsen

The Stable Shout is a monthly award from HRNZ to recognize trainers who are going the extra mile to deliver exceptional communication to their owners.

Terry Frisby who is an owner in Kirk and Michelle’s Own The Moment Syndicate, nominated the trainers for the Stable Shout after being involved in their ownership day at Invercargill last weekend.

“I am a first time owner, and got involved with their Own The Moment syndicate. We had our first big day at the Invercargill races on Saturday. They put on a marquee, entertainment, food and everything. We had a stable visit which my 6 year old son loved (he also saw the Kidz Kart races and wants to get involved now), and 2 of the 3 horses in the syndicate ran in a race – albeit a non tote before the main card. They were unreal throughout the day, and have been all the way up to now with updates on Facebook and email at least once a week, and sometimes more. I am putting a big family group together to get them to get us an affordable horse this year so I can have as much fun with my family as I have had with a bunch of complete strangers. All because the Larsen’s have shown me how accessible and fun this sport can be, and I have never met either of them before I found out about the syndicate on Facebook”.

Kirk and Michelle will now receive $100 to shout themselves and their staff morning tea to celebrate their wonderful performance in ownership communication.

If you would like to nominate your trainer for a stable shout, please email Courtney Clarke at HRNZ to explain why they deserve to win – courtney@hrnz.co.nz

Anyone looking to become involved in horse ownership or trainers who have horses available for new owners can also contact Courtney on the details above.
