Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted February 1, 2020 Journalists Share Posted February 1, 2020 The clear class of the field in Saturday’s GIII Holy Bull S. at Gulfstream Park, Sackatoga Stables’ TIZ THE LAW (c, 3, Constitution–Tizfiz, by Tiznow) stamped his authority on the steppingstone to the GI Florida Derby, won in 2014 by his successful young sire. First to break the line, Tiz the Law was eased back off a speed duel turning up the backstretch, but the colt was none to happy, tossing his head about for several strides. Gathered up by Manny Franco and eased into the three path and into the clear passing the midway point, Tiz the Law readily reeled in pacesetting Ete Indien (Summer Front) rounding the turn, claimed that one for good with three-sixteenths of a mile to race and finished about three lengths to the good while appearing green in the final stages. The $110,000 Fasig-Tipton New York-bred aired against restricted maiden company on his Aug. 8 debut at Saratoga before besting Green Light Go (Point of Entry) by four lengths in the GI Champagne S. Oct. 5. After connections elected to pass the GI Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, he traveled to Churchill Downs for the GII Kentucky Jockey Club S. and could not overcome a messy trip and finished third. Lifetime Record: 4-3-0-1. O-Sackatoga Stable; B-Twin Creeks Farm (NY); T-Barclay Tagg.
