Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted February 9, 2020 Journalists Share Posted February 9, 2020 Nadal (c, 3, Blame–Ascending Angel, by Pulpit) followed up on his impressive ‘TDN Rising Star’ debut victory with a professional 3/4-length score in the GII San Vicente S. at Santa Anita Sunday. Returning juvenile champion Storm the Court (Court Vision) was fourth. Sent off the 1-5 favorite, Nadal contested the pace with 12-1 shot Ginobili (Munnings) through fractions of :21.81 and :44.09. He took control in upper stretch and looked home free, but Ginobili proved a stubborn foe, grudgingly giving way late. Fast Enough (Eddington) edged Storm the Court late for third. The time for the seven furlongs was 1:22.59. Nadal, a $700,000 Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream graduate and a $65,000 Keeneland September yearling, aired by a front-running 3 3/4 lengths in his 6 1/2-furlong debut at Santa Anita Jan. 19. Lifetime Record: 2-2-0-0. O-Bolton, Hoyeau, Lipan, et al. B-Sierra Farm (Ky). T-Bob Baffert.
