Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted February 21, 2020 Journalists Share Posted February 21, 2020 Fox Hill Farms Inc.’s exciting Jolie Olimpica (Brz) (Drosselmeyer) makes her first two-turn North American start in Saturday’s GII Buena Vista S. at Santa Anita. A perfect three-for-three in Brazil, capped by a six-length romp going a mile over heavy ground in the G1 Gran Premio Jockey Club Brasileiro at Gavea last June, the chestnut was subsequently sold privately and turned over to Richard Mandella. She debuted in the Fox Hill red and white in the local GIII Las Cienegas S. Jan. 11, scoring by 1 1/4 while lowering the course record and earning a 101 Beyer Speed Figure. Second choice on the morning line is lightly raced 4-year-old filly Carressa (Uncle Mo), who has won three of her four starts (with a second) since stretching out for trainer John Shirreffs. She aired by 8 1/4 lengths in a Del Mar optional claimer Nov. 22, and made a productive turf debut when besting four of these returning rivals in the course-and-distance GIII Megahertz S. Jan. 20. The accomplished Lady Prancealot (Ire) (Sir Prancealot {Ire}) does own a win at this distance, but is likely a bit better going farther. The late runner seeks her third straight win–she took Keeneland’s GIII Pin Oak Valley View S. going 8 1/2 panels Oct. 18, and defeated Mucho Unusual (Mucho Macho Man) in the GI American Oaks over 1 1/4 miles.
