Ludwig
I don't understand the racing dates at Forbury. Over summer the days are long and fine and warm. But no racing at Forbury. But come winter when the nights are long, cold and miserable, we get night racing .All seems back to front. Can anyone offer an explanation? Trotsfan
Best explanation I can think of is southland don,t race for about 8 weeks stop second week of june and start again in August so gives there horses a chance of racing all year round and with canterbury area racing on Sunday maybe instead of mid week at night Saturday afternoon in winter would be better
Ludwig
I agree. Southland and Canterbury are the two main centres who get the pick of the dates. But surely Forbury can do better than the current situation. I think Saturday afternoon is a good option, or even twilight meetings. But Thursday evening in the middle of June is no fun.
