Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted March 7, 2020 Journalists Share Posted March 7, 2020 Salute The Soldier (Ger) (Sepoy {Aus}) was a 380,000gns purchase by Oliver St Lawrence and Fawzi Nass out of the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale last year off a pair of Class 2 handicap wins at Goodwood and Ascot, and he looks to have a good chance to earn back his purchase price after stamping himself a leading contender for the $1-million G2 Godolphin Mile in Saturday’s G3 Burj Nahaar at Meydan. Content to sit three lengths off the pace while making his dirt debut, Salute The Soldier followed the move of Kimbear (Temple City) into the straight, overtook that rival at the 350 metre mark and kicked clear to win by four lengths.
