River Boyne Over Got Stormy by a Head in Kilroe Mile

River Boyne (Ire) (h, 5, Dandy Man {Ire}–Clytha {GB}, by Mark of Esteem {Ire}), a last out winner of the GIII Thunder Road S. at Santa Anita Feb. 8, captured a career high at odds of 5-1 Saturday, shooting up the rail in the stretch and defeating favored Got Stormy (Get Stormy) by a head in a thrilling renewal of the GI Frank E. Kilroe Mile S. Next Shares (Archarcharch) was right there in third.

River Boyne, already a four-time graded winner and MGISP entering the Kilroe Mile, was a close fourth in this race last year.

The final time was 1:33.88.
