Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted April 11, 2020 Journalists Share Posted April 11, 2020 LASHARA (GB) (F, 3, American Pharoah-Marbre Rose {Ire} {GSW, $298,822}, by Smart Strike) was bet down to 7-2 in her debut but tired late to be eighth going 6 ½ furlongs over the Gulfstream dirt Mar. 15. Recording a pair of sharp turf works since that effort, including a bullet four-furlong move in :47.60 at Palm Meadows Apr. 4, she was installed the 8-5 choice to get the job done while trying a route of ground on the turf this time. Covered up in sixth early as Champagne Lady (Uncle Mo) rolled through initial splits of :22.94 and :47.15, Lashara moved into contention approaching the quarter pole, swung out wide into the stretch and bore down on the front runner through the lane, sweeping past her in the final strides to win with ease. Take Charge Ro (Will Take Charge) got up in the final jumps to edge Champagne Lady. Final time for the eight-furlong test was 1:35.09. Lifetime Record: 2-1-0-0, $27,430. O-Cindy M.
