Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted April 18, 2020 Journalists Share Posted April 18, 2020 Coolmore has purchased a major share in Saturday’s G1 Champagne S. hero King’s Legacy (Aus) (Redoute’s Choice {Aus}-Breakfast in Bed {Aus}, by Hussonet) and will stand the $1.4-million Magic Millions Gold Coast yearling colt at their Jerrys Plains operation upon his retirement from racing, the stud announced. A winner of the 1400-metre G1 ATC Sires Produce S. a fortnight ago, the Segenhoe Thoroughbreds Australia-bred also scored in the G3 Magic Millions B.J. McLachlan S. in December for trainers Peter and Paul Snowden and has earned north of $400,000 in five starts. Coolmore Australia boss Tom Magnier said, “We are very excited to secure King’s Legacy for Coolmore. I see him as the best stallion prospect ever produced by champion stallion Redoute’s Choice and we just had to have him. He is an incredible physical specimen, as befits a $1.4-million yearling and boasts a wonderful, world-class pedigree. Importantly, his racetrack performance completes the package, being a dual 2-year-old Group 1 winner with only upside to come. He comes from one of the best families in Australia, featuring high level stallions in Not A Single Doubt and Snippets plus a host of other top horses.” Purchased out of the Gold Coast sale by James Harron Bloodstock for a syndicate of owners, the son of the seven-time winner and MSP Breakfast in Bed will race for the existing owners in partnership with Coolmore going forward. One of 38 Group 1 winners for his late Arrowfield Stud sire, King’s Legacy is out of a half-sister to G1 Flight S. heroine Oohood (Aus) (I Am Invincible {Aus}). His third dam foaled Group 1 sire Not a Single Doubt (Aus) (Redoute’s Choice {Aus}), as well as the dam of G1 Golden Slipper/G1 Blue Diamond S. runner-up Zizou (Aus) (Fusaichi Pegasus).
