Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted April 18, 2020 Journalists Share Posted April 18, 2020 The lightly raced CE CE (f, 4, Elusive Quality–Miss Houdini, by Belong to Me) earned her second consecutive Grade I tally after coming out on the right end of a hard-fought battle in Saturday’s GI Apple Blossom H. at Oaklawn Park. She sat in fifth early off a hot pace somewhat surprisingly set by fellow California invader Ollie’s Candy (Candy Ride {Arg}) before wearing that valiant foe down late and stopping the clock in 1:43.14. Point of Honor (Curlin) rounded out the trifecta. Favorite Serengeti Empress (Alternation) faded after failing to make her usual spot on the lead. Ce Ce was the 7-2 second choice. The winner kicked off her campaign with a sprint optional claiming win at Santa Anita Feb. 17, and added a convincing tally over GISW Hard Not to Love (Hard Spun) and Ollie’s Candy in the GI Beholder Mile last time in Arcadia. Ce Ce is half to 2009 GII Arkansas Derby winner Papa Clem (Smart Strike). Lifetime Record: 6-4-1-0. O/B-Bo Hirsch LLC (Ky). T-Michael McCarthy.
