Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted April 25, 2020 Journalists Share Posted April 25, 2020 In a race billed as a match race between Grade I winners Bellafina (Quality Road) and MIA MISCHIEF (m, 5, Into Mischief–Greer Lynn, by Speightstown), the Carousel S. proved to be all Mia Mischief, who romped home to a decisive victory. Favored at 3-2 over her younger rival, who was 7-5, the ‘TDN Rising Star’ stalked local hero Amy’s Challenge (Artie Schiller) from second through an opening quarter in :21.91 with Bellafina shadowing them in third. Glued to the pacesetter through a :45.21 half-mile, Mia Mischief seized command at the top of the lane charged clear to win as she pleased. Winner of the GI Humana Distaff S. last term, Mia Mischief closed out 2019 with a win in Churchill’s Dream Supreme S. Nov. 1 and was sent through the ring at Fasig-Tipton November a few days later, where Stonestreet purchased her from the Heiligbrodts for $2.4-million. Returned to Steve Asmussen, she carried Stonestreet’s famed burgundy and gold silks to victory in her 2020 debut against optional claiming company Mar. 20. Lifetime Record: 21-10-6-1. O-Stonestreet Stables; B-Spendthrift Farm LLC (KY); T-Steve Asmussen.
