Bendigo track record holder Jim Zarr Dashian will attack the Warrnambool Cup heats this afternoon and trainer Jamie Ennis has made no secret of the talent the son of Kinloch Brae and Kim Zarr Dashian.

“I am sure he is capable of being amongst the top three or four greyhounds in the country, but he has to draw a little bit better than what he is drawing of late,” trainer Jamie Ennis told RSN Central’s Gareth Hall.

Jim Zarr Dashian has drawn box five in race six (4.01pm) and although a tricky draw, his past three starts have been from middle boxes and is unbeaten. This includes his track record performance at Bendigo.

To add to the hard draw, Jim Zarr Dashian has come up against Australian Cup contender and Shepparton Cup winner Hard Style Rico in their Warrnambool Cup heat.

“I have great respect for Hard Style Rico. He has come a long way in a short amount of time, like Jim Zarr Dashian. They are both young dogs I am sure ability wise it is going to be a great clash,” Ennis said.

“Jim Zarr Dashian did trial very fast there as you would expect six weeks ago so I can’t get him going into the race any better, especially coming off a track record run.”

Six heats of the Warrnambool Cup will be run and won this afternoon, with the first heat kicking off at 2.57pm.
