Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted May 25, 2020 Journalists Share Posted May 25, 2020 Pam and Marty Wygods’ SECRET KEEPER (f, 3, Into Mischief–Candy Drawer, by Candy Ride {Arg}) propped and dropped jockey Abel Cedillo as they were beginning to parade for Monday’s eighth race at Santa Anita, but she was all business during the running of the 5 1/2-furlong maiden, driving past heavily favored Fierce for Sul (Speightstown) in the final sixteenth of a mile to score by about two lengths. Let go at 10-1, the homebred was relegated to a chasing and hard-ridden second as the heavily backed Fierce for Sul blazed a trail up front. Ridden with the whip for a majority of the race by Cedillo, Secret Keeper still had about four lengths to make up on the chalk turning for home, but she kept to her task and raced past the pacesetter with 100 yards to race en route to the upset. A full-sister to the Wygods’ GSP Into Chocolate, Secret Keeper is out of an unplaced half-sister to two-time turf Grade I winner Harmonious (Dynaformer). The filly’s GSW/GISP third dam Jade Flush (Jade Hunter) produced GSW Megantic (Theatrical {Ire}) and was a half-sister to Tenga (Mr. Prospector), dam of GISW Startac (Theatrical {Ire}). Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0.
