Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted May 26, 2020 Journalists Share Posted May 26, 2020 His last trip to the Golden State resulted in a defeat of River Boyne (Ire) (Dandy Man {Ire}) in the 2018 GI Hollywood Derby at Del Mar and, making his 5-year-old debut in Monday’s GI Shoemaker Mile S. at Santa Anita, RAGING BULL (FR) (h, 5, Dark Angel {Ire}–Rosa Bonheur, by Mr. Greeley) took advantage of a fast pace up ahead of him, looped his rivals nearing the stretch and powered home a geared-down winner of the ‘Win and You’re In’ qualifier for the GI Breeders’ Cup Mile at Keeneland Nov. 7. Settled three from the tail as Voodoo Song (English Channel) set a suicidal pace up front, Raging Bull got his cue from Joel Rosario at the three-eighths, circled rivals to be four and five wide into the lane and raced away to an ultimately comfortable success. Next Shares (Archarcharch), bothered badly when War of Will (War Front) broke sharply inward at the break, raced in a detached last, but also benefited from the fast pace and closed for second. Favored Without Parole (GB) (Frankel {GB}) rode the rails throughout, but had nowhere to go through most of the final quarter-mile and did exceptionally well to slice through for third. War of Will was ultimately disqualified after crossing the line fifth. Lifetime Record: 13-6-2-2. O-Peter M Brant; B-Dayton Investments Ltd; T-Chad Brown.
