Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted May 30, 2020 Journalists Share Posted May 30, 2020 Sunday’s card at Milan saw British-based sires Adaay (Ire) and Twilight Son (GB) strike with their first winners in the opening two races. 1st-Milan, €17,600, Mdn, 2yo, 1000mT, :59.20.DOCTOR STRANGE (GB) (c, 2, Adaay {Ire}–Mystic Jade {GB}, by Raven’s Pass) was fast from the gates on debut but was soon overtaken by Davie’s Spirit (GB) (Charm Spirit {Ire}) on his inside. Tracking that rival through the opening furlongs, Doctor Strange pulled his way to the lead with a quarter mile to run and drew off to win by a commanding four lengths from Davie’s Spirit while becoming the first winner for his freshman sire Adaay (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}), winner of the G2 Sandy Lane S. and G2 Hungerford S. who stands at Whitsbury Manor Stud for £5,000. Still under a motionless Carlo Fiocchi as they hit the final quarter mile, Aria Importante drew off to win by a facile 3 1/2 lengths from Wakanaka (Ire) (Power {GB}), who was a further 5 1/2 lengths the better of the third Cosifantutte (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}). Aria Importante is the first runner and winner for Cheveley Park Stud’s G1 Diamond Jubilee and G1 Haydock Sprint Cup winner Twilight Son (GB) (Kyllachy {GB}).
