Camelot’s English King Too Good In the Derby Trial

Successful in a 10-furlong maiden on Newcastle’s Tapeta in November, Bjorn Nielsen’s English King (GB) (Camelot {GB}) made light work of his first major test in Lingfield’s Listed Derby Trial on Friday. Anchored in rear early by Tom Marquand, the 9-4 joint-favourite went over this Epsom-like terrain as if he was on wheels and after breezing by the other joint market-leader Berkshire Rocco (Fr) (Sir Percy {GB}) approaching the final furlong was pushed out with hands and heels to score by 2 3/4 lengths, with seven lengths back to Summeronsevenhills (Summer Front) in third.
