Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted June 27, 2020 Journalists Posted June 27, 2020 Midnight Bisou (5, m, Midnight Lute–Diva Delite, by Repent) came flying through the stretch to win Saturday’s GIII Fleur de Lis–a Breeders’ Cup ‘Win and You’re in” event–at Churchill Downs in style, airing by six lengths. Serengeti Empress (Alternation) jumped out to an early advantage, rolling through an opening quarter in :23.18 as Midnight Bisou farther back in third, about four lengths off the leader. As GI Kentucky Oaks winner Serengeti Empress continued to cruise through a half in :46.15, five-time Grade I-winner began to narrow the gap on the weaking leader, who was being closely pursued by Motion Emotion (Take Charge Indy). Moving fastest of all late, however, Midnight Bisou exploded to the front late and roared home an easy winner over Motion Emotion, who bested Serengeti Empress. Lifetime Record: 21-13-5-3, $7,370,000. O-Bloom Racing Stable LLC (Jeffrey Bloom), Madaket Stables LLC and Allen Racing. B-Woodford Tbreds (KY); Steve Asmussen.
