Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted July 4, 2020 Journalists Share Posted July 4, 2020 INSTILLED REGARD (h, 5, Arch–Enhancing, by Forestry) got up just in time to score his first win at the highest level in the GI Manhattan S. Saturday at Belmont. Saving ground in mid-pack through three-quarters in 1:15.93, the 2-1 shot was shuffled back a bit on the backstretch as the field fanned out approaching the turn. Still left with plenty to do in mid-stretch, the $1.05-million OBSMAR buy kicked it into high gear in late stretch, splitting horses in the final sixteenth, and getting up just in time to deny his favored stablemate Rockemperor (Ire) (Holy Roman Emperor {Ire}) in 2:02.59. Winner of the GII Fort Lauderdale S. in December, Instilled Regard was third in the GI Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational S. Jan. 25 and was sixth in the GII Mervin Muniz Memorial S. at the Fair Grounds Mar. 21. He returned to winning ways last time in the local GII Fort Marcy S. June 6. Lifetime Record: 18-5-3-4. O-OXO Equine; B-KatieRich Farms (KY); T-Chad Brown.
