Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted July 11, 2020 Journalists Share Posted July 11, 2020 RUSHING FALL (m, 5, More Than Ready–Autumnal, by Forestry) notched her fourth straight campaign with a Grade I win and broke the Keeneland course record for 1 1/16 miles with a sharp success in the GI Coolmore Jenny Wiley S. Saturday in Lexington. 2017’s GI Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf heroine, the bay closed her 3-year-old campaign with a score in the local GI Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup S. and started her 4-year-old season with a victory in this event. Adding the GI Longines Just A Game S., she suffered just the second and third losses of her career in the GI Diana S. and GI First Lady S., respectively, before returning triumphantly in the GIII Beaugay S. on opening day June 3 at Belmont. Away well as the 4-5 chalk in this spot, Rushing Fall let Jolie Olimpica (Brz) (Drosselemeyer) clear from her outside and angled off the rail under Javier Castellano to sit second through splits of :23.42 and :46.92. Sidling up to that one menacingly five-sixteenths out, she encountered a stubborn foe and was still only on even terms at the eighth pole, but soon started to do the better work and edged away to prevail by three-quarters of a length, stopping the clock in 1:39.02, beating the previous course record by a full second albeit in much hotter conditions during this unorthodox July Keeneland meet. Sales History: $320,000 Ylg ’16 FTSAUG. Lifetime Record: 13-10-2-0, $2,278,000. O-e Five Racing Thoroughbreds; B-Fred W. Hertrich III & John D. Fielding (KY); T-Chad Brown.
