Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted July 16, 2020 Journalists Share Posted July 16, 2020 Right now social media is being inundated with information about all things harness racing. There are countless snippets from stables, raceday previews, betting tips, raceday interviews – you name it. Harness Racing New Zealand has three main vehicles to get information out there, the website hrnz.co.nz, its main facebook page, and its own punting Facebook page called “Be In to Win”. There are many regular betting features including selection boxes on the day of every meeting, the Craig Thompson – Mick Guerin videos (Big Fish, Little Fish) as well as a host of interviews with trainers, drivers and other industry figures. Other offerings out there include Nigel Armstrong’s videos on his Facebook site, Harness Racing Unhinged, while Andrew Fitzgerald (@OffnRacing) is also a regular commentator on the sport and has a weekly on-line programme with Matt Markham called “Behind the Tapes”. Southern Harness is also doing excellent job with content relating to meetings at Ascot Park, and Jo Stevens is a regular contributor from Alexandra Park and Cambridge, as are Stacey White and Jess Davidson at Addington. But the information is far more widespread than that. Stables, clubs, drivers and trainers have all been extra busy posting information on their own Facebook pages. At HRNZ there is simply too much information out there to share on our Facebook pages or website, so we have decided to set up a master list to help you get the best insight you can. We have done our best to include everyone but no doubt there are more out there so anyone who wants to be included please let us know – and Happy Punting!
