Decorated Invader (c, 3, Declaration of War–Gamely Girl, by Arch), winner of last term’s GI Summer S. at Woodbine, continued his perfect sophomore season with a measured success in Saratoga’s GII National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame S.

The 2-5 favorite chased in second as Get Smokin (Get Stormy) led by seven or eight lengths through an opening quarter in :23.85. He began to cut into the advantage as they rounded the far turn, hit he front in midstretch and drew clear late to score by 1 1/2 lengths.

Get Smokin stubbornly held on for second over previously unbeaten Domestic Spending (Kingman {GB}).

The final time for 1 1/8 miles was 1:49.29.

An unlucky fourth in the GI Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf at Santa Anita, Decorated Invader entered off wins in Gulfstream’s Cutler Bay S. Mar. 28 and Belmont’s GII Pennine Ridge S. June 20.

Sales history: $200,000 yrl ’18 KEESEP.

Lifetime Record: 7-5-1-0.
