Boasting just a July 2 Bellewstown maiden win entering Sunday’s G2 Airlie Stud S. at The Curragh, the 33-1 shot Aloha Star (Ire) (Starspangledbanner {Aus}) upset the 10-11 favourite Frenetic (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}) in a thriller. Anchored behind that rival and the G3 Coolmore Stud Irish EBF Fillies’ Sprint S. winner Mother Earth (Ire) (Zoffany {Ire}) by Chris Hayes, the bay swooped inside the final furlong to shade it by a head, with 1 3/4 lengths back to Mother Earth in third.
