Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted July 25, 2020 Journalists Share Posted July 25, 2020 Canadian Horse of the Year and claim-to-fame Starship Jubilee (m, 7, Indy Wind–Perfectly Wild, by Forest Wildcat) outbattled Call Me Love (GB) (Sea The Stars {Ire}) for a hard-fought victory in Saturday’s GII Ballston Spa S. at Saratoga. Returning champion Sistercharlie (Ire) (Myboycharlie {Ire}), favored at 2-5 for her 6-year-old bow, was third. The 3-1 chance chased in third as the Chad Brown-trained stablemate of Sistercharlie North Broadway (Quality Road) ran off by as many as 10 lengths through a half mile in :48.18. Starship Jubilee, twice claimed for $16,000 earlier in her career, made her move on the top two as they straightened for home and fought her way past the stubborn runner-up to take it by a neck. The final time for 1 1/16 miles was 1:41.76. Starship Jubilee, heroine of last fall’s GI E. P. Taylor S., entered riding a three-race winning streak, including the GII Hillsborough S. at Tampa most recently Mar. 7.
