ECHO TOWN (c, 3, Speightstown–Letgomyecho, by Menifee) pulled off a 7-1 upset Saturday in a competitive running of the GI H. Allen Jerkens Memorial S. Presented by Runhappy. Away well, the bay sat in midpack early as favored No Parole (Violence) zipped along while taking pressure. Echo Town tipped out wide for clear sailing at the top of the lane, and blew past his rivals over the top to score by a widening four lengths in 1:22.53. Tap It to Win (Tapit) held second over the winner’s stablemate Shoplifted (Into Mischief). No Parole faded in the stretch. Echo Town was second to No Parole in the GI Woody Stephens S. Presented by Claiborne Farm at Belmont June 20. Sales history: $100,000 yrl ’18 KEESEP.
