Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted August 2, 2020 Journalists Share Posted August 2, 2020 Freshman sire Nyquist (Uncle Mo) enjoyed a strong 15 minutes with a pair of 2yo winners at Saratoga and Woodbine Sunday afternoon. Gretzky the Great kicked off the run with a confident front-running score in Woodbine’s 6th race moments before 9-5 choice Lady Lilly, out of Miss Inclined (Pulpit), lined up in Saratoga’s sixth race, a six-furlong test on the dirt. Just as her northern counterpart, the firster raced out to take an early lead, showing the way through initial splits of :22.48 and :45.82. In the clear turning for home, the $280,000 KEESEP yearling appeared to be home free, but despite getting leg-weary in the final sixteenth, she held on for a neck victory over the oncoming Mo Dean (Uncle Mo). Final time for the juvenile test was 1:11.77. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $43,200. O-Phoenix Thoroughbred III. B-Mueller Thoroughbred Stable LTD (KY); T-Steve Asmussen.
