Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted August 16, 2020 Journalists Share Posted August 16, 2020 Nando Parrado (GB) (Kodiac {GB}) will be Clive Cox’s sole representative in next weekend’s G1 Prix Morny after the trainer revealed that his G2 Richmond S. winner Supremacy (Ire) (Mehmas {Ire}) will sit out that contest and potentially head to the G2 Gimcrack S. at York on Aug. 21. Nando Parrado has not been seen since winning Royal Ascot’s G2 Coventry S. at 150-1, having missed his last intended target in the G2 Prix Robert Papin. “We are very keen on Nando Parrado heading in that direction, who I think will appreciate the soft conditions there,” Cox said. “He just missed a couple of days before the Robert Papin, and it was just a case of bad timing, but he has trained really well since. Hopefully that remains the case, and seeing foreign horses over there today hopefully there are no hiccups with travel plans.” “Just because he was 150-1 when he won at Royal Ascot, he is still a very good horse,” Cox added. “He is already a Group 2 winner and hopefully he can now progress further.” Of Supremacy, Cox said, “Supremacy does have an entry in the Gimcrack, where he would have a three-pound penalty. That is Plan B, with conditions looking so testing in Deauville.
