Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted June 3, 2018 Journalists Share Posted June 3, 2018 Out of luck when 13th of 14 in the G1 Poule d’Essai des Pouliches at ParisLongchamp May 13, Mission Impassible (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) had things fall in her favour at Chantilly on Sunday as she gained compensation in the G2 Prix de Sandringham. Settled under cover in third early by Cristian Demuro, the 4-1 shot received a perfect tow from the leader Efaadah (Ire) (Dansili {GB}). When angled out, the chestnut who had finished third behind Wild Illusion (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) and Polydream (Ire) (Oasis Dream {GB}) in the G1 Prix Marcel Boussac here in October delivered a surge to gain the advantage 100 metres from the line en route to a 3/4-of-a-length success from the closer Crown Walk (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}), with Efaadah a length away in third. “She did not have a clear run in the Pouliches and so was unable to show her true form, but maybe that was a blessing in disguise as she didn’t have a hard race,” trainer Jean-Claude Rouget commented. “She did very well in between and has rewarded us with a nice victory which shows she has lost none of her quality. She will go back to my Deauville base now and be prepared for the [July 29 G1] Prix Rothschild.” Sunday, Chantilly, FrancePRIX DE SANDRINGHAM-G2, €130,000, Chantilly, 6-3, 3yo, f, 8fT, 1:37.72, sf.1–MISSION IMPASSIBLE (IRE), 123, f, 3, by Galileo (Ire)1st Dam: Margot Did (Ire) (Hwt. 3yo Filly-Eng at 5-7f & G1SW-Eng, $425,664), by Exceed and Excel (Aus)2nd Dam: Special Dancer (GB), by Shareef Dancer3rd Dam: Caraniya (Ire), by Darshaan (GB)1ST GROUP WIN.
