Upstriker (2, c, Upstart–Casanova Striker, by Smart Strike), let go at 11-1 for this unveiling, overtook pacesetter Bluegrass Pharoah (American Pharoah) turning for home and drew clear to a five-length victory over the 7-2 choice. Final time for the 6 1/2 furlong test was 1:16.52. The win was the fourth for Upstriker’s freshman sire (by Flatter). Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $27,720.
