The most iconic two-year-old race of the season will now be known as the DoubleTree by Hilton Karaka Million 2YO and will continue to be contested by eligible graduates of NZB’s sales at Ellerslie Racecourse. Scheduled to open its doors in Spring 2021, the state of the art property at Karaka will feature 120 guest rooms including four spacious suites, a restaurant and bar, fully equipped gym, pool and two meeting rooms. NZB’s Managing Director Andrew Seabrook, is delighted that DoubleTree by Hilton is sponsoring the richest two-year-old race. “It makes perfect sense to form a partnership with the iconic Hilton brand, given they will be operating our new hotel next year.” Scott Thomson, Cluster General Manager for Hilton Auckland & Hilton Lake Taupo, commented, “We are thrilled to be associated with a race that holds such a tremendous profile.” After finalising Karaka 2021 dates, NZB is pleased to confirm the 2021 Karaka Million Twilight Meeting will be held on Saturday 23 January, with both the DoubleTree by Hilton Karaka Million 2YO and Karaka Million 3YO Classic scheduled to take place next summer at Ellerslie.
