Kirk and Judy Robison’s JACKIE’S WARRIOR (c, 2, Maclean’s Music–Unicorn Girl, by A.P. Five Hundred) followed up on a breathtaking performance in winning the GII Saratoga Special S. Aug. 7 with another spectacular run in Monday’s GI Runhappy Hopeful S. at Saratoga, easily accounting for favored ‘TDN Rising Star’ Reinvestment Risk (Upstart). Fellow ‘Rising Star’ Mutasaabeq (Into Mischief) was a distant third. Popped away from the stalls by Joel Rosario, the $95,000 Keeneland September yearling got the opening quarter in :22.56 and his next two furlongs in :22.27. Traveling supremely confidently, his next quarter was in :23.50, for a six-furlong composite of 1:08.33 and he waltzed under the line a facile winner, stopping the clock in 1:21.29. That bettered the seven-furlong stakes record of Came Home (2001) by 0.65 seconds. O-J Kirk & Judy Robison; B-J & J Stables (KY); T-Steve Asmussen.
