An American Pharoah half-sister to the undefeated recent GII Amsterdam S. winner Yaupon (Uncle Mo) became the third horse with the span of half an hour to light up the Keeneland tote, hammering to Mike Rutherford for $1.2 million as the Keeneland September Sale recovered from a slow start to pick up significant steam in its second hour of trade. Bred by Bill Betz, J Betz, CoCo Equine, former Chicago newscaster Ron Magers and Burns and consigned by Betz Thoroughbreds, hip 291 is a daughter of GISP Modification (Vindication), also the dam of MGSP Sawyer’s Hill (Spring At Last).
