Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted September 14, 2020 Journalists Share Posted September 14, 2020 Hip 282, a colt by Curlin and the first foal to be offered at public auction out of 2013 GI Acorn S. winner Midnight Lucky (Midnight Lute), fetched a final bid of $1.2 million from a high-profile partnership including Mike Repole, St Elias Stable, John Oxley, Gainesway and Robert Clay’s Grandview to quickly nose in front of the $1.025 Into Mischief filly sold just a handful of hips earlier at the Keeneland September sale. A rare gray colt for his sire, the Mar. 4 foal was consigned to the sale by John Sikura’s Hill ‘n’ Dale Sales Agency, agent, and was bred by the nursery along with Mike Pegram, Karl Watson and Paul Weitman. The colt’s page is dotted with former Pegram runners, including GISW Hookedonthefeelin, the dam of fellow seven-furlong Grade I winners Jimmy Creed (Distorted Humor) and Pussycat Doll (Real Quiet). Midnight Lucky foaled a full-brother to hip 282 earlier this year.
