Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted September 19, 2020 Journalists Share Posted September 19, 2020 Lael Stables’ MAGIC ATTITUDE (GB) (f, 3, Galileo {Ire}–Margot Did {Ire}, by Exceed and Excel {Aus}) brought strong French form into Saturday’s GI Belmont Oaks Invitational, which saw her sent off as the even-money favorite in the 10-furlong test. She ultimately made that quote look like a gift, as she traveled like a winner every step of the way in accounting for Saratoga Oaks heroine Antoinette (Hard Spun) by three lengths. Allow to settle into stride and racing unhurried from last, Magic Attitude was quietly ridden by Javier Castellano, even as the pace was slow to develop. With Castellano swinging off the filly turning for home, she responded immediately when slipped the slightest bit of rein, overhauled a game Antoinette at the furlong marker and swooshed home a tons-the-best sort of winner. Neige Blanche (Fr) (Anodin {Ire}) finished a non-threatening third. The 89th Grade I/Group 1 winner for her all-conquering stallion, Magic Attitude was acquired by Roy and Gretchen Jackson following her victory in the G3 Prix Vanteaux at ParisLongchamp in May. Runner-up in the G1 Prix Saint-Alary at Chantilly June 14, she was a latest fifth to Fancy Blue (Ire) (Deep Impact {Jpn}) in the G1 Prix de Diane over an extended mile and a quarter at Chantilly July 5, the strength of which was validated when the winner returned to annex the G1 Nassau S. at Goodwood July 30. Lifetime Record: 7-3-1-1. O-Lael Stables; B-Katsumi Yoshida; T-Arnaud Delacour.
