Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted September 19, 2020 Journalists Share Posted September 19, 2020 A graded winner this season at Gulfstream, Tampa and at Saratoga, STARSHIP JUBILEE (m, 7, Indy Wind–Perfectly Wild, by Forest Wildcat) earned the second Grade I success of her career Saturday, beating home the Mark Casse-conditioned March to the Arch (Arch) and Classic winner War of Will (War Front) in the GI Ricoh Woodbine Mile. The victory secures the mare a spot in the field for the GI Breeders’ Cup Mile at Keeneland Nov. 7 should connections so choose. Settled midfield behind a pace that was honest, if not overly fast, Starship Jubilee bided her time on the turn in the slipstream of Value Proposition (GB) (Dansili {GB}), with War of Will glued to her outside. Steered out and around the Preakness winner with a little less than a quarter-mile to race, she hit the front at the eighth pole and came away to score comfortably. Starship Jubilee joins Ventura (Chester House, 2009) and Tepin (Bernstein, 2016) as females to down the boys in the Woodbine Mile. Lifetime Record: 38-19-5-3. O-Blue Heaven Farm; B-Willam P Sorren (FL); T-Kevin Attard.
