Settled behind Ready to Repeat (More Than Ready), who carved out initial fractions of :24.10 and :47.82, Gretzky the Great collared the frontrunner when asked in the stretch and despite drifting inward late, remained three lengths clear of Ready to Repeat at the wire while withstanding a claim of foul and steward’s inquiry.
