Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted September 26, 2020 Journalists Share Posted September 26, 2020 Beaten a nose into second by Imperial Hint (Imperialism) when the Vosburgh S. was contested as a Grade I event in 2019, Mr Amore Stable’s FIRENZE FIRE (h, 5, Poseidon’s Warrior-My Every Wish, by Langfuhr) punched his ticket to the GI Breeders’ Cup Sprint with a determined victory Saturday at Belmont Park. Sent along by Jose Lezcano to chase Share The Ride (Candy Ride {Arg}) from second, the Florida-bred went on the attack one off the inside as Engage (Speightstown) and Funny Guy (Big Brown) rolled up three and four deep. Firenze Fire responded when set down in upper stretch and kicked home nicely to take his record locally to five wins from eight starts. Funny Guy completed the exacta ahead of Share The Ride in third. Lifetime Record: 29-12-3-2. O/B-Mr Amore Stable (FL); T-Kelly Breen.
