Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted October 1, 2020 Journalists Share Posted October 1, 2020 With further rain forecast to impact already very soft ground, Sunday’s €3,000,000 G1 Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe has attracted a stellar field of 15 featuring dual winner and last year’s runner-up Enable (GB) (Nathaniel {Ire}). Coolmore’s Love (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), the wide-margin winner of this term’s G1 1000 Guineas, G1 Epsom Oaks and G1 Yorkshire Oaks, was the only notable absentee following Thursday morning’s declaration stage. Enable will depart from the five hole for her widely assumed farewell party and will be joined by stablemate Stradivarius (Ire) (Sea the Stars {Ire}), who has been allocated stall 14. Ballydoyle’s streamlined force, last successful in 2016 with Found (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), is a formidable quartet of Group 1 winners sired by Galileo (Ire). Japan (GB), in 11, is next door to Sovereign (Ire) in 10, while Mogul (GB) gets an inner three draw and Serpentine (Ire) is widest of all in 15. Jean-Claude Rouget’s team of two, Sottsass (Fr) (Siyouni {Fr}) and Raabihah (Sea the Stars {Ire}), will exit gates four and two, respectively. Andre Fabre, successful last year with Waldgeist (GB) (Galileo {Ire}), bids to boost his record haul of eight renewals with last month’s one-mile G1 Prix du Moulin victor Persian King (Ire) (Kingman {GB}), who is upped in trip and drawn in seven. Japan’s lone raider Deirdre (Jpn) (Harbinger {GB}) has drawn box 12 and G1 Deutsches Derby hero In Swoop (Ire) (Adlerflug {Ger}) gets the one slot.
