Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted October 3, 2020 Journalists Share Posted October 3, 2020 SWISS SKYDIVER (f, 3, Daredevil–Expo Gold, by Johannesburg), let go at 11-1 taking on the boys in Saturday’s GI Preakness S., parlayed an early turn move by Robby Albarado into a narrow victory over GI Kentucky Derby winner Authentic (Into Mischief) in a stirring renewal of the GI Preakness S. The chestnut, just a $35,000 Keeneland September yearling, stopped the clock in 1:53.28 after a stretch-long duel with Authentic that saw them hit the wire together. It was a long way back to longshot Jesus’ Team (Tapiture) in third. The winner, who signaled her affinity for an extended trip when she crushed GII Black-Eyed Susan S. runner-up Bonny South (Munnings) in Saratoga’s 10-panel GI Alabama S. two back Aug. 15, most recently completed the exacta in the GI Kentucky Oaks Sept. 4. Swiss Skydiver earned a spot in the GI Breeders’ Cup Classic starting gate with the victory. Sales history: $35,000 yrl ’18 KEESEP. O-Peter Callahan. B-WinStar Farm LLC (Ky). T-Kenneth G. McPeek.
