Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted November 7, 2020 Journalists Share Posted November 7, 2020 Let go at a juicy 17-1 off a strong third to GI Breeders’ Cup Turf hopeful Tarnawa (Ire) (Shamardal) when last seen in the G1 Prix de l’Opera on Arc day Oct. 4, AUDARYA (FR) (f, 4, Wootton Bassett {GB}-Green Bananas {Fr}, by Green Tune) was given a letter-perfect tactical ride from Frenchman Pierre-Charles Boudot and clawed her way past a very game Rushing Fall (More Than Ready) to score the upset in Saturday’s GI Maker’s Mark Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf. Drawn gate 11, Audarya was taken hold of, but was slipped enough rein to angle down onto the fence passing under the line with a circuit of the Keeneland turf course to travel. Racing three back on the fence in the slipstream of Peaceful (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), Boudot allowed his mount to slide up underneath that one to race on the back of Mean Mary (Scat Daddy) nearing the stretch. Put to a drive a long ways out, Audayra was pulled out into the clear with three-sixteenths to travel and outstayed Rushing Fall to the line as Harvey’s Lil Goil (American Pharoah) ran a blinder to be third. Sales history: €125,000 Ylg ’17 ARQOCT. Lifetime Record: 13-5-4-1. O-M A Swinburn; B-SARL Haras d’Ecouves; T-James Fanshawe.
