Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted November 7, 2020 Journalists Share Posted November 7, 2020 ORDER OF AUSTRALIA (IRE) (c, 3, Australia {GB}-Senta’s Dream {GB}, by Danehill) recorded the second-biggest upset in the 35-year history of the Breeders’ Cup, sitting a trip handy to the pace despite the widest draw and outfinishing stablemates Circus Maximus (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) and Lope Y Fernandez (Ire) (Lope de Vega {Ire}) in Saturday’s GI Fanduel Breeders’ Cup Mile at Keeneland. It was a first win in the Mile for Aidan O’Brien. Off as the 73-1 outsider with Pierre-Charles Boudot picking up the ride from Christophe Soumillon, Order of Australia was able to get down into the three path after veering a bit outward at the break and took the sit from third as Halladay (War Front) and Factor This (The Factor) eyeballed each other up front. Poised to strike turning for home, Order of Australia took command inside the final sixteenth of a mile and withstood a late run from G1 Queen Anne S. winner Circus Maximus for the victory. Order of Australia is the second Group 1 winner for his sire-himself a son of two-time GI Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf winner Ouija Board (GB) (Cape Cross {Ire})-who also supplied this year’s G1 St Leger hero Galileo Chrome (Ire). He is a half-brother to last year’s GI FM Turf upsetter Iridessa (Ire) (Ruler of the World {Ire}) and his dam is a daughter of 2002 FM Turf heroine Starine (Fr) (Mendocino).
