Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted November 27, 2020 Journalists Share Posted November 27, 2020 Joe Allen’s MRS DANVERS (f, 3, Tapit-Gracie Square, by Awesome Again) dueled inside of a rival for the opening four furlongs, took command and the nearly white filly reported home a convincing six-length winner of Friday’s GIII Comely S. at Aqueduct. Off at odds of 7-2, Mrs Danvers hit the ground running and controlled the pace, as Project Whiskey (Tapizar) shaded her for the opening half-mile. Able to shake free from that rival for good approaching the quarter pole, Mrs Danvers kicked farther in front off the home corner and romped in. Ice Princess (Palace Malice) held for second ahead of Thankful (American Pharoah) in third. Mrs Danvers becomes the 139th black-type winner and 87th graded winner for her uber-successful stallion. Lifetime Recor: 8-3-3-1. O-Allen Stable Inc; B-Joseph Allen LLC (KY); T-Shug McGaughey.
