Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted November 28, 2020 Journalists Share Posted November 28, 2020 ‘TDN Rising Star’ Travel Column (f, 2, Frosted–Swingit, by Victory Gallop) became the first stakes winner for freshman sire Frosted (Tapit) in Saturday’s GII Golden Rod S. at Churchill Downs. The 9-2 chance was off in a tangle early and trailed the field heading into the clubhouse turn. Locked and loaded on the far turn, she raced in traffic approaching the quarter pole and appeared to have room along the inside as they straightened. Florent Geroux decided, however, to tip her out widest of all from there and the gray responded, kicking in nicely late to win by about a length. Clairiere (Curlin) was second; Coach (Commissioner) was third Travel Column, a flashy debut winner at Churchill Sept. 4, was third after a tardy start in the GI Darley Alcibiades S. at Keeneland Oct. 20. Sales history: $850,000 yrl ’19 FTSAUG. Lifetime Record: 3-2-0-1. O-OXO Equine LLC; B-Mr & Mrs Bayne Welker Jr & Denali Stud (Ky); T-Brad Cox.
