Thomass
What a great story this Mighty Wakatoo Cup turned into... The bread and butter owner trainer Billy Pomare with his always reliable breed turning out yet another Stakes winner... Failing to get a senior jockey and turning to the Apprentice Surfing dude from a non racing family who decided he wanted to be a Jockey, turning up to Tiley's stable after a days surfin'...who took him on.... ...balance is everything and surfin' dudes have it in bucketloads... So Pomare went to the App who had won on him before...without the allowance this time... Callum Jones took Billy to the front after being caught wide....and never looked like being headed again What a story, what a result for the battlers! SLB2.0
Not a criticism of Callum, but I hope he'll learn to become an all-round jockey. At the moment it's handlebars down and try to hang on. It has worked recently, but it won't help him in the future. Didn't see a young MW or JMac trying it.
Thomass
To be fair he was instructed to drop the clutch on Ralph's neddy...and what a sight that was! Korare Cheif like! I heard Billy Pomare giving him a wrap as Ocean Billy likes to keep rolling and can keep going all day.... Just how good was Pomare on Weigh In last week though? Talk about personality...even Guerin couldn't stop him
