QUICK TEMPO (c, 2, Tapizar–Sing Dixie Sing, by Dixie Union) became the newest stakes winner for his late sire, who was euthanized earlier this week after a stall accident, when wiring the Sugar Bowl S. at Fair Grounds Saturday. Taking immediate control, the 4-5 favorite zipped through a :21.47 opening quarter and :44.57 half-mile. He kept on finding in the lane to win by two lengths over Gagetown (Exaggerator). A debut winner on the Arlington synthetic, Quick Tempo crossed the line fifth, but was DQ’d to sixth for interference in the Ontario Racing S. on turf Sept. 19. Romping in an allowance on dirt at Parx Oct. 20, the $75,000 OBSAPR buy was second last time in the Nyquist S. at Keeneland Nov. 6. Lifetime Record: 5-2-1-0.
