Gammalite
Today 200km from Sydney , one of the Greatest NZ horses ever, won the Goulburn Cup . A horse that has WON in the colours of the Three major barns of NZ and Aus.!!! What a feat that is alone ! still raced by Robert and John Dunn I think. He is a beauty. !! ALTA ORLANDO did the usual AllStars thing and won his 4 juvenile races impressively , driven by Nat while trained at AllStars in 2014. Tragically going amiss so badly , that he was virtually a 'Giveaway" and the Dunn's and staff did the 'miracle' of patching him up and he raced again 2 years later !! wow.!! ALTA ORLANDO had one start for one win in each of 2016 and 2017 . Too unsound to have any continuance of career. He came back winning 5 races straight !! through early 2018 , an amazing effort by All the Dunn team to achieve this, alas the form tapering off early 2019. SO , over to Luke McCarthy stable and a winter 2019 try at Brisbane , and a great 2nd (worth 42k too ! ) to the local Hero COLT THIRTY ONE in a Group 1. He has had about 30 starts for only 6 wins at McCarthy's , but about 6 x second's to illustrious stable-mate KING OF SWING in the past 6 months. Including 1.48.8 mile times , made up of 54.4 second half miles back to back to go that fast . SERIOUSLY , WHO goes That fast ??? So today the little Champ was packed off to backwater Goulburn to pick up 16k and get away from KOSwing for a change. WELL DONE to everyone involved. getting him back to the races ! just the 18 wins from the 85 starts but ONE of the GREATEST anyway !
