Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted February 14, 2021 Journalists Share Posted February 14, 2021 By Adam Hamilton Things are only going to get busier for top-class Kiwi mare Stylish Memphis. It has already proven an inspired move by trainer Mark Jones to send her across to Jack Trainor in Sydney for a crack at the Group 1 Ladyship Mile. Stylish Memphis booked her spot in that February 27 feature when she stormed home off a moderate tempo to win the Group 2 Sibelia Stakes at Menangle n a slick 1min50.9sec mile (Saturday). A week earlier she also qualified for the $200,000 Group 1 Chariots Of Fire – run next Saturday night – when second to Zeuss Bromac to open her Menangle raid. “Mark sent her across for the Ladyship, but she’s four so it made sense to run her last week and she qualified so she’s can now run Group 1s to run in for the next couple of weeks,” Trainor said. “As good as she went the first week, she thrived since and I knew she’d run even better this time. It was big win. “It’s such a great opportunity for me, a this stage of my career, to put my name in lights by driving in these big races.” Jones added: “Lots of credit to Jack for the work he’s doing, this has been a team effort. “Placement of my horses is a big part of my business to maximise returns and she’s now created the option of the Chariots and/or the Ladyship. “She makes my job easy. She’s just a really good Bettors Delight.” Trainor, who is mixing freelance driving with training a team of seven on-course at Menangle, will also drive exciting local filly Anntonia in the NSW Oaks heats. “She’s very, very fast. If she gets right sort of trip and can be saved for her straight line speed, she’ll be hard to beat in anything,” he said.
