Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted February 17, 2021 Journalists Share Posted February 17, 2021 Anyone not convinced that greyhound racing is a family sport need look no further than the Pearcedale property of leading trainer Andrew Paraskevas and partner Jess Litchfield. Speaking to her mum, GRV’s Louise Martin in the first ever edition on ‘Lou’s Lounge’ aired last Sunday on 7Two’s Thrill of the Chase, mother-of-three Jess revealed how her daughters India and Pippa play a huge role in looking after their greyhound pups right from the outset. “The girls would help me feed the pups every two hours,” Jess recalled about a litter born in 2019. “They were out there with the bottles, feeding the pups, cleaning the pups and even feeding the mum. Andrew and I found puppies in their bedroom, hidden under blankets, which was very interesting,” she laughed. “Andrew and I found puppies in their bedroom, hidden under blankets, which was very interesting.” “They also have collars and leads on them I think before any other greyhound pup would have.” India and Pippa could even be greyhound trainers in the making judging by a particular post on social media. “I had a Facebook post and Pippa was training the pups,” Jess recalled. “I think they (the pups) were one month old and she had made a lure herself.” “She put a bit of string on a stick and made her sister India hold the pups, and then they said ‘ready, set, go,’ and they had to chase the lure.” WATCH: Jess Litchfield, with baby Louka in arms, talks greyhounds and kids in last Sunday’s episode of 7Two’s ‘Thrill of the Chase’. *Thrill of the Chase returns to 7Two this Sunday at 11am and on Saturday 27 February at 9pm for the final of the Group 1 Australian Cup at The Meadows. Clarkie
Yes! The "Thrill starts with the continueness of family involvement and pure honest love for these beautiful dogs. and the genuine ones will always be here to pick up the pieces when the greedy selfish lot drive the sport out of existence.. It is a shame that the N.Z. scene has been taken off course by the likes of "Craig Rendle" who has along with Brendon Cole mastered a plan to get rich and dominate the sport to the detriment of all the many thousands of dogs involved in their plan and also the suffering of the majority of dog loving people that will, because they are 'decent and caring' hang in for as long as they can. Touching stories like this was once the norm for the Greyhound in N.Z. but thanks to Rendle and his Puppets on the N.Z.G.R.A board things have changed dramatically. The Thrill of the Chase sadly is now no where as exciting as it was! The sport has been "HiJacked" .Have a look at who is at Head Office and what about the Board ? just take the time to access these pack of dickwits that have their own agendas first and foremost.. This article is Heartwarming but in true time it aint happening here in N.Z. anymore accept for the dedicated honest loving people that have faith and genuinely love their dogs..
