Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted February 20, 2021 Journalists Share Posted February 20, 2021 The $20-million Saudi Cup was all about the Americans Charlatan (Speightstown) and Knicks Go (Paynter) in the preliminaries, but in the end it was Europe's challenger, the John Gosden-trained Mishriff (Ire) (Make Believe {GB}) under the 21-year-old David Egan who came through for Saudi national Prince Faisal. Charlatan and Knicks Go took it to one another right from the start, with Charlatan leading down the backstretch, Knicks Go putting his head in front around the turn and Charlatan taking over once again at the top of the lane, but Mishriff was never far out of it. Knicks Go called it a day at the top of the stretch and it was down to Charlatan and Mishriff, with the latter at last collaring the game American at the 100 metre mark and getting there 3/4 of a length the best. Great Scot (GB) (Requinto {Ire}) got up for third, and Knicks Go was fourth.
