Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted March 2, 2021 Journalists Share Posted March 2, 2021 A yearling colt by Vercingetorix (SAf) (Silvano {Ger}) took top billing during Sunday's Bloodstock South Africa Cape Yearling Sale. Consigned by Wilgerbosdrift as lot 64, the yearling, named Galic War (SAf), hammered at R375,000 to the Hollywood Syndicate. Produced by the winning Oojooba (SAf) (Dynasty {SAf}), the colt's second dam is the group-placed Salsabeel (Aus) (Elusive Quality) from the extended family of G1 Cheveley Park S. heroine Dead Certain (GB) (Absalom {GB}). The top filly (lot 9) of the sale was by What A Winter (SAf) (Western Winter) and she was purchased by GMB Bloodstock. Consigned by Daytona Stud and named Inner Sense (SAf), the filly brought R320,000. Overall, the sale grossed R11.77 million for 141 sold (81%) from 174 offered.
